About Project

Tay Zar Yar Ma School has over 2,000 students and features a long, narrow layout with only one entrance and exit. Due to the disproportionate ratio between the number of students and the available school buildings, the school operates in two shifts to accommodate all students. Having only one school building has created a potentially hazardous situation for the students.

Although a three-story building exists, construction was halted due to financial difficulties, leaving it unfinished. The first and second floors are currently used as classrooms, while the top floor serves as a dormitory for young novice monks and students. However, due to the lack of proper room partitions and sound insulation, classroom sessions are disrupted by overlapping noise. Additionally, the absence of protective walls on the top floor leads to water leakage during the rainy season, making living conditions uncomfortable for the students.

A three-story building with six classrooms was constructed and donated to replace the unsuitable structure previously in use. Although the construction was completed, due to the high number of students, the school had to continue operating in two shifts, for which approval was requested from the head monk. Additionally, 31 computers and bunk beds were donated to support the school’s needs.
